Cypriot Participants pre - meeting
ACPELIA had the opportunity to host their preparations activities on the 28th of May 2024 at C technical and vocational school in Limassol.
During these preparation activities the participants focused on three major categories in preparation for the Youth Exchange. Before to start with their research participants had a discussion with Nikolas president of NGO and chemical engineer for sustainable cooking and plants and also about effects of climate change in Cyprus trying to suggest also some sustainable methods. Then participants made 4 groups and they start working all together for their information's for their research.
First, the participants did research about sustainable
cooking. This research focused on sustainable yet wild vegetation that grows
around Cyprus that is used in Cypriot cuisine and how they are cooked and
prepared. Whole research can be found here:
The second, was to do research on in what ways climate change is
affecting Cyprus specifically and the changes that have happened in the country
throughout time, because of fossil fuels and carbon emissions. This also went a
step further to do some research on sustainable methods that Cyprus needs to
improve.
This research was concentrated
into 4 posters which you can find below.
The third was to find actual
vegetation that grows sustainably in the surrounding area. The participants
found two such vegetation that is can be used in salads, called (in the Greek
